Big Girl

My oh my how you are coming out of your shell. You are the family to say sorry, thank you and please. If someone is sad you are the first to give a hug or pat on the back with a "okay?" to check on them. You are also quite the little mother. Any child smaller in stature than you will be mothered, regardless of age. You love your babies, and wrap them up in blankets and take them for walks in your stroller daily. Your favorite show is Curious George and Calliou. You have graduated to a big girl bed, and usually do pretty well in it. You love saying your prayers before bed and then sing your version of "You Are My Sunshine" with me while I give you tickles. I probably look forward to this every night more than you do. I love the expressions on your face, you sweet little smile and the kisses that follow as you tell me good night. These are the moments I wish I could just bottle up and keep them forever!

Getting Too Big

In the past 2 weeks you really have turned into such a big girl. You are talking so much, I don't even know where to start on the words you can say. You are starting to use 2 and 3 word sentences correctly and frequently. You are SO good with your pleases and thank yous. I just can't get enough of you saying "dank oo". You love any babies or children younger than you and are so mothering to them. I can't believe how big you are too. You and Lexie and nearly the same weight and your height is getting right up there too. You tower over most of the kiddos your age. I just can't give you enough love! I wish so much I could can up these moments as they are passing by so quickly. Hard to believe you are almost 2!

Dadada Dora

I think we can officially say that Dora is your favorite show for now. You don't ever sit still but for Dora you will, waiting anxiously for the Backpack song to come on. I think you like it so much because a) The whole song only consists of 1 word and b)you can say that one word. Hey whatever keeps you happy right?!

18 months

Can I get a Hallelujah! 18 months and you are in nursery FINALLY!! I swear they should have a pre-nursery class at church. Those few months before are brutal when you have an active little girl. Let's talk about what else you are doing: 1. You are growing and growing and growing! I don't have your stats but you are our biggest one yet! 2. We have been able to put the piggy tails in your hair and you look C-U-T-E! So much so I want to eat you to pieces. 3. You are getting very interested in books lately, which I love when my kiddos get to this point. You will look at them on your own, but most the time you pick them out and pull on my leg to come and sit down and read it to you. 4. You are recognizing songs and patterns. You can't say the actual words/letters yet, but your favorite is "ABC" to which you will grunt in the right intonations and bounce back and forth to the beat. We love it, and this song is getting sung much more around our house now. 5. You and Lexie are starting to play really well. In the mornings after Mason leaves for school you will follow her around playing the "Mom and Dad" game, holding your baby. 6. Your vocabulary is growing! You say about 1.5 dozen words to include: mama, dadda (or daddy), baba, gink, gu (gus), baby, what, thank you, cracker, sucker, ya, hi, bye, look, 1,2,3, and of course NO. Still your favorite.

Just Put It in A Bag

Everyday you are becoming a little more independent and wanting to be grown-up. Lately, you will only accept your snacks without throwing a fit if it is given to you in the original packaging or if I put it in a baggie. Needless to say we are going through those baggies much quicker at our house!
